Panda Parking for WSJ…
Earlier this week I headed over to Panda Parking, a start up based out of Baltimore for The Wall Street Journal. Panda Parking has created a service online to help people find parking or rent out an available spot. They are expanding quickly and are currently covering the Baltimore and D.C. areas. You can read the full story here.

Roads and Kingdoms…
Nathan Thornburgh, friend and contributing writer to TIME, recently launched a new website called Roads and Kingdoms, part travel, part journalism and part food blog.
(from R&K’s website) Nathan was passing through Mexico after a Time Magazine reporting trip to Cuba that had started with his arrest in Havana’s Jose Marti airport, because he was a journalist with contacts to Cuban dissidents. Matt, meanwhile, was eating his way through Mexico for a mezcal-fueled feature called There Are No Nachos in Mexico. They connected at the airport in Mexico City and headed straight to Restaurante Arroyo, a sprawling barbacoa campus outside of the capital city.
That conversation there in Arroyo was what they want Roads and Kingdoms to be: it started with a lot of shit-talking about the immortal music and pustulent bureaucrats of Cuba and ended with a behind-the-scenes tour of a ridiculously good Mexican kitchen, complete with tasting of worm tacos and smoked goat wrapped in banana leaves. This is what travel can be, from Southeast Asia to Siberia to North Africa and beyond: war, politics, music, and everywhere food.
“Roads & Kingdoms”, by the way, is cribbed from The Book of Roads & Kingdoms, a great early geography written in the 11th century by Abu Abdullah al-Bakri in Córdoba, now home to a mediocre football club playing in Spain’s second division.
Today, R&K featured my Muay Thai kick boxing story I shot while in Bangkok.
You can take a look here.

Jay Royale Mixtape Cover…
I’ve been working a lot with artist Jay Royale over the last year. There is something really powerful collaborating with other artists who do totally different work and yet there is connection in the process of creating our work.
He released a recent mixtape, The Crown Royale Mixtape, you can download and listen to for free here.
With a bottle of Crown and my camera, we shot for a couple hours around Baltimore and then headed back to my studio to shoot some portraits. At the very end of our shoot, Jay walked over and poured himself another glass of Crown, giving us the cover.

New Scans…
I really love going through old film and finding pictures that have not made it to the edit yet. I just scanned a bunch of negs and I will have more coming soon. These images are from a test shoot with model Holly Miller.
Crowbars – Jay Royale
A few weeks back Jay and a few other members of our team hit the Baltimore streets to shoot this guerilla style video. Royale has a mixtape coming out soon and this video is quick sneak peek of whats to come. In about two weeks time, we will be dropping the official, Shoe Box Money video, debuting Jay’s first mixtape. You can check out Jay’s website here.
